Austin Storytelling’s version of storytelling is a person telling her own true, personal story for a live audience. The story might be historically significant or about a universal, everyday truth. It might be funny, tragic or both. The moments within the story, when the teller and listeners connect, when the teller might heal and the listener might empathize, that is magic. It’s an antidote to our fast, impersonal, digital lives. It can be the salve, the glue or the whipped cream on top of our every day thoughts and our deepest fears. THIS is storytelling.
